Welcome to Palm Beach Boating
Guide's Peanut
Island Good Times page. Thank you for visiting. Get
ready for some wild times at Palm Beach
County's favorite boating playground!
Weekdays Peanut Island has a laid back feel. A handful of
boaters and campers have the island to themselves. Be warned, however, things are very
different on the weekend!
When the weekend weather is nice (which is most of the time)
hundreds of boaters from all over South Florida chart a course for
Peanut Island. They load aboard family, friends, grills, folding
chairs, footballs, snorkeling gear and their other
favorite toys.
A day at Peanut Island is a vacation day. It's a day to
enjoy the bright sun, blue sky and fun tropical island
atmosphere. It's a day away from work and worries. You'll
hear a lot of Jimmy Buffett being played, You'll see friends and
families enjoying each other's company. There will be an
irresistible party atmosphere putting people at ease.

This page contains several high resolution, large size

Boaters raft-up at Peanut Island in
Florida's West Palm Beach area.
The party starts early. Boating friends rendezvous to "raft
up" their boats on the north side of Peanut Island. This area
is popular because sandbars
appears at low tide.
Click
here if you would like directions for rafting up two or more boats.
Peanut Island raft-up near the Blue
Heron Bridge.
As more boaters arrive, more raft-up.
If you anchor at high tide
it's important to choose water that is deep enough to accommodate the tidal water level change.
Water depth varies 3-4 feet with the tide. Give yourself enough
water depth so that you won't have to move your boat when the tide goes
out.
Raft-up on the north side of
Peanut Island.
This "double row" raft up makes it easy to socialize, especially when
the water is only waist high.
Floating lounges between
anchored boats.
It's fun to float free between boats.
Peanut Island's north side beach and sandbar area.
Everything gets crowded on the weekends. The party rages
in the water, on shore and on the sandbar.
Relaxing with friends while anchored
off Peanut Island.
These folks come prepared. Note the blue innertube and orange floating cooler tethered
behind their boat. Two solar bag showers hang high near the rod
holders. It's always nice to rinse off the saltwater before the
ride home.
Beach on the southwest side of
Peanut Island.
The party isn't restricted to the northern sandbar area.
This picture shows beach is on the southwest side of Peanut
Island. Visitors find clear blue water from the nearby Lake Worth
Inlet. There are excellent views of the cruise ship terminal and
the Port Of Palm Beach.
Boats "nosing up" on Peanut
Island.
If the dock is full and anchor space is tight, just nose up on
the beach!

east side beach near the Peanut Island campground.
If you settle in on the island's west side you'll have a great
view of the Lake Worth Inlet
and Palm Beach.
